TRENDS: The emphasis shifts from the complex process of analyzing and understanding our feelings, to seeking answers to important questions. It is a time to clear up fuzzy thinking and stand behind what we truly believe in – our ethics and spirituality. The New Moon is in Sagittarius and Mercury enters Sagittarius in Week 1. With so much Jupiterian energy, we may be shooting arrows all over the place, though we may not be sure where they will land. Jupiter, who rules Sagittarius, is concerned with  Higher Laws of wrong and right and philosophy. So doing what one knows to be right is a safe bet. At the same time Mars enters Libra, increasing desires for socializing, networking, forming/working on new and existing partnerships. Being fair is essential.

The Uranus/Pluto Square – of which we are still feeling the effects – will not occur again until April of next year. Although the energies are in abeyance, in the last week of the month, the Sun, Mercury, and Mars are all involved in the square. It’s the last slam of the year.  Remember the formula for success: liberation and transformation by following the heart.

In Week Two, Jupiter trines Saturn (120 degrees), so we seek balance between expansion and contraction. We see where we must pursue our diesires and where we must conserve our energies. This  produces a sense of security in the long run, but we must be flexible in finding the answers we seek in unusual places. It is time for the Higher Energies to communicate with us, and to point us in the right direction. Strive for honest and open communication in new and unexplored areas.

Week 3 is the beginning of the energy shift when Uranus goes Stationary Direct. The bizarre and unusual intensifies. Assertive expression in communication and putting things on the line  is a good thing to do, so everyone will finally know where others are coming from. Express yourself!

Week 4, when three planets aspect the Uranus/Pluto Square, is where conservative forces make their play and the Uranian energies will rebel to preserve freedom and individuality. We have another T-square, with Pluto at the base, and Mars and Uranus opposing eachother, crossing the T. To solve these double 90 degree conflicting energies, the sign opposite the base of the T is what must be embraced. In this instance, it is Cancer, and it signifies caring, nurturance, family, growth, emotional security, safety and support. Venus goes Stationary Retrograde on the 21st, so our internal focus is on paying attention to what we value, own, want and prioritize. If the emphasis should shift, dont be surprised. You are getting to your core values.

Whether we are viewing it from the perspective of macro-world politics or micro-intimate relationships, the solution is caring for and nurturing ourselves and others, and honoring  that we must see ourselves and individuals in a very large family.

KEY WORDS: Philosophy, Upheaval, Nurturance, Experimentation

ARIES: Week 1 begins very pleasantly for Arians who seek rest, pleasure and partnership. Your ruling planet, Mars, enters Libra. Wants and desires may take on an even broader focus as you try to work out the necessary details to plans. All seems copacetic until Week 4, when Mars creates 90 degree angles (challenges/release) with the Sun (other energies), Mercury (thinking/communication), and Pluto (change/transformation). It also opposes Uranus, setting off the Uranus/Pluto T-square. So fasten your seat belts, keep your eyes on the road, and know you will eventually get there. The Moon is in Aries on the 10th, so explore the unexpected.

TAURUS: Most of the planets have moved out of your opposite sign, Scorpio, so if things have slowed down a bit, you may be wondering whats’s going on. Quixotic is the word of the day, meaning, questioning what is real or what is overly idealisitic or romanticized. Time to deal with the conflicting emotions around what it feels safe to believe in. Don’t pretend everything is okay when it isn’t, to keep the status quo. Venus, your ruling planet goes Stationary Retrograde on the 20th, so you may experience sudden shifts in what you value or what you have feelings for. It’s okay to think outside of the box; in fact, it would be helpful. The Moon is in Taurus on the 12th, when it should give you a sense of where your feelings are truly drawn.

GEMINI: There’s a Full Moon in Gemini this month, and your ruling planet, Mercury, makes strong aspects to Uranus.  It joins the Sun in highlighting the Uranus/Pluto  Square at the end of the month, so life should be shakin’ and bakin’! The month begins with plans and designs, and by the third week (Full Moon in Gemini on the 17th), you should know whether and how things should work out. Week 4, Mercury enters grounding Capricorn, so you should be able to get your feet on the ground to be ready to take the next bold, unexpected step. Don’t try to keep things under raps – let ’em rip!

CANCER: Venus in Capricorn is making a very close oppostion (180 degrees) to Jupiter in your sign, and Saturn is in harmonious aspect, favoring good times. In fact, most of the month should be pretty harmonious for most Cancerians, with lots of opportunities coming your way, especially when the Moon is in your sign on the 18th. Mars enters Libra on the 7th, so you may be challenged this month by those with agendas that differ from your own, but don’t give away your power, release it and be strong. You are getting much better at handling manipulation and power plays successfully, as well as listening to your inner voice.

LEO: Tensions should lighten up for Leos this month, and you should have time to devote to pursuits that you enjoy. Saturn is really the only planet squaaring (90 degrees) your Sun, at this time – release limited views so  you can see the whole forest and not just the trees. Respect the bigger picture that life is a process and little by little, you will achieve your goals. The end of the month gets kind of crazy for everybody. Take advantage of the Moon in Leo on the 20th, to prepare yourself for your ruling planet, the Sun, to join with Pluto, square Mars, and oppose Uranus. Remember to care for, nurture, and support your world and those around you to deal with the challenging end of month energies.

VIRGO: Virgos will have a busy month, since your ruling planet, Mercury, is active most of the month, aspecting favorably at the beginning. It will be hard for Virgos to take a back seat when it comes to bringing order and organization to chaos. You  have the drive and the means to do it, but at the end of the month, challenges will arrive. Fortunately, the Moon is in Virgo on the 22nd; which will help ground you and prepare you for the hectic last week of the month.

LIBRA: Librans have a pleasant, lightweight month, until the last week, like everyone else. Your ruling planet, Venus, goes Stationary Retrograde on the 21st, so don’t be surprised if your values and priorities should suddently shift, and a new plan presents itself. The Last Quarter Moon is in Libra on the 25th, setting off the last blast of the Uranus/Pluto Square. Mars will also be well into Libra by then (it enters on the 10th), increasing strength and vitality, to give you the energy to handle whatever results.

SCORPIO: The only planet still in your sign this month is Saturn, continuing to teach the lessons of limitation and restriction. Consolidation helps you to streamline your focus more sharply without extraneous clutter and confusion. Things move along slowly for Scorpios until Week 4 –  as is the case for everyone. But you have the aid of Pluto, your ruling planet, joining Mercury (the mind) and the Sun (energy/growth). Intelligent solutions and the resources to make them work are at hand. Make sure you take care of yourself as well as others, and to be supportive of your wants and desires, even if there is friction or pressure from others. The Moon is in your sign two times this month – on the 1st and the 27th – a good time to withdraw and assess situations.

SAGITTARIUS: Waxing philosophic is the order of the day this month. You should be feeling pretty good for the most part, and if not, a new plan for the future might be in order. The Sun is in your sign, so it’s your birthday and you may have more on your social caalendar than you’ve ever had before. Or you may just feel it’s all too much and communing with a Higher Power alone may be more to your liking. The key aspect this month for Jupiter, your ruling planet, is a trine (120 degrees) to Saturn on the 12th. It’s a very solid feeling of achieving balance between expansion (going too far) and restriction (not going far enough). You will know how much/how far. There’s a New Moon in Sagittarius on the 3rd, so since it’s your birthday month, plant seeds for the coming year.

CAPRICORN:  Capricorns may feel more stable and grounded than they’ve felt in awhile, since your ruling planet, Saturn, is in harmonious aspect with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and spiritual growth. You are seeing the continual evolution of your feelings as a process toward emotional safety and security: Trusting love from others; or bringing someone or something new into your life that will expand your horizons may spice up the holiday season. Everyone’s feelings change. They are in process, too. It is best to go with the emotional flow and see where it leads. The Sun goes into Capricorn on the 21st; Mercury, on the 24th. Venus goes Stationary Retrograde (28 degrees Cap, on the 21s)t, so practical thinking will help guide you  through the turbulence of the fourth week. The Moon is in Capricorn on the 4th and the 31st to help keep you centered.

AQUARIUS:  Maintaining harmony when strong wills enter relationship issues will be a trick this month. But it’s better than giving in just to maintain the status quo. Try to keep things in balance and perspective when working out solutions to problems, which is favored in the second week. Remember, everyone being true to themselves does not create a no-win situation. Even though other’s values may differ from yours, everyone must do what’s important to them. Uranus, your ruling planet, is very active the whole month. The Moon is in Aquarius on the 6th. Uranus goes Stationary Direct on the 17th, so energies intensify from that point on, since in the fourth week, Uranus aspects the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Pluto. This is the last hard hit of the Uranus/Pluto Square until next April. Hopefully you’ve made it through with belief in yourself and your need to be free.

PISCES:  Jupiter and Saturn are trine (120 degrees) this month, including Pisces in the happy watery triumverate. You should really be able to formulate a plan for your far reaching future Destiny. Thoughts of expansion will challenge you to move out of stuck places and give structure and form to abstract goals. In Week 1, Mercury squares your ruling planet, Neptune, so be particularly careful about communicating clearly and paying attention to getting all the details you need. The First Quarter Moon is in Pisces on the 9th, so it’s a good time to concretize plans and strategies. The Full Moon on the 12th may reveal information that challenges you, but by the 24th, there is opportunity to convince others of your dreams.
