Are there ways to improve your performance on jobs that must be accomplished? Whether they be disagreeable chores or your greatest ambitions, here are a few tips to help you invest your energies in success!
The first block that must be overcome, for those jobs that you just DON’T want to do, is to understand the positive purpose of the job. Look at the cause and effect of not doing it. Why is it necessary that it be done? If you uncover its intrinsic raison d’etre, and logically look at its deeper positive influence upon your world once it’s accomplished, this will probably shift the energies into a more accepting place.
Tasks are completed most successfully when you put your heart into it and appreciate it and love it as being important to yourself and your world – no matter how much drudgery, tedium and fear of failure may be involved.
Secondly, don’t begin a task until you feel emotionally moved or ready to accomplish it. Though this may be difficult to do at a job, because certain tasks may need to be done at certain times, try to give yourself some leeway as to when to start, and psyche yourself up
with positive purpose.
If you have no flexibility, then give yourself a reward – beforehand – to congratulate yourself on overcoming a difficult task. Yes, before you do it! This could involve buying yourself a tasty food treat, or a new piece of apparel. Think about the task as you indulge, and come up with a plan that will give you quickness and efficiency. That means, think in terms of process, not failure or success. Be organized. What are the requirements? What materials do you need to complete the task most successfully? This will make the getting to that successful outcome easier, and before you know it, it will be done!
