Trends: Pisces is the sign of cosmic consciousness. It rules inspiration and higher states – the pictorial image-making mind. It rules photography, and those arts that combine reality with the unreal. Pisces’ higher path is to learn to remove petty boundaries and mental structures in order to find the center and source of their inner being with its many layers. It is the center of the paradox – the dissolution of opposing forces, as is portrayed in its astrological symbol: two fishes swimming in opposite directions, whose swirling waters at its center seem to symbolize the emotional turbulence with which Pisces must deal. Traditional theories concerning the symbol, state that the fishes represent the conscious and the unconscious mind, the finite and the infinite consciousness. The Piscean lesson is to make conscious the unconscious mind; to separate from its fears and its phobias and find and unite the soul with the self. Heady stuff! Indeed! However, Pisces rules the feet! They must resolve upon a harmonious course, as one cannot make movement if the feet are going in different directions. Hence, the need to operate from an emotional soul center. When Pisces is dysfunctional, fears cause escapism and self-deception. Pisceans may mistrust their feelings. In many cases, alcohol and drugs are taken to mask and repress the emotions. The soul connection is lost and over-use of drugs and alcohol results in an attempt to find one’s “spirit”. If Pisceans trust their emotional natures, they will see the bigger karmic Destiny. Fear of the emotions will cause them to flip-flop, making it hard to see their true feelings from the unreal ones created from fear. It is the role of Pisces to teach us to be unafraid to explore our emotional life, to turn away from overly- controlling fearful egos, and to unite soul and self.

It’s an exciting month as it is the culmination of a very lengthy evolutionary process that began in 2010. It is the last and final pass of the Uranus/Pluto square. By now we can all see the vast changes and energy shifts over the last 5 years that have been transpiring, and we should all be on a new growth level in whatever areas of life these planets fall in your chart. In addition, Jupiter and Uranus are making harmonious long-term growth aspects for the second time, (the first being September of last year), so you should see echoes from that time in the now. The energies from these two planets bring about brilliant, inspired self-expression, wisdom, spirituality and expansion of one’s freedom.

The Jupiter/Uranus trine occurs early in Week 1, on the 3rd. In addition, Mercury and Venus are making harmonious, opportunistic aspects to these planets, enabling us to figure out and value these new ideas and expansionary directions. On the 5th, the Sun sextiles Pluto, bringing with it the opportunity to make changes. Also, there’s a Full Moon in Virgo on the 5th, so you will clearly see what needs to be accomplished.

In Week 2, Mars trines Jupiter, conjuncts Uranus and squares Pluto on the 11th, so around that time, our transformational process is coming to its climax. Rebellion, unexpected action, wanting something unique and different, and a tendency for drastic measures are all descriptive of this configuration. Mercury enters Pisces on the 12th, helping to temper excessive forcefulness.

Week 3, the exact square of Uranus and Pluto takes place on the 16th, along with Mercury squaring Saturn. It might impose a temporary restriction on your process, but trust the holding pattern if it should occur. The Uranus/Pluto square brings Destiny and changing life patterns to break out of the established, repressive order of negative situations. These powerful forces are the catalyst for change, regeneration and evolutionary growth.

In Week 4, by the 20th, the energies will favor action once again; and by the 25th, the view of your future Destiny should be apparent. Mercury entering Aries on the 30th should provide you with ideas for positive action. Both Venus and Mars enter Taurus, which should greatly help you to get your priorities in order.

Challenging days for the Uranus/Pluto square are the 8th, 15th, 21st and 27th. There’s a New Moon in Pisces on the 20th, helping us to learn Pisces’ lesson of grounding ourselves in our soul centers.

Key Words: Transformation, Upheaval, Spiritual Growth.

ARIES: Aries has a dramatic month for new beginnings, taking a chance and trusting it will work out well. Uranus in your First House trining Jupiter in your Fifth, gives you the urge to expand your life in unexpected and innovative ways, which includes following your own spiritual truth and letting go of what no longer has importance. The first two weeks are the most active, but bear in mind that the Uranus/Pluto square can be felt this entire month, with the strongest energy shifts around the 1st-5th, 10th-11th, and of course, around the 16th, when the aspect is exact. Relationship issues are highlighted in the 1st week, and feeling comfortable with taking action in relationships in pro-active ways would be helpful. The Sun and Moon both enter Aries on the 20th, so you should have a good understanding of what role you should take in defending your unique path.

TAURUS: The beginning of the month may be a bit challenging for Taureans who like to take things slow and easy. Stay focused on your goals, plans and ambitions. Any changes that occur due to things beyond your control need to be respected. Don’t try to hold onto what no longer works. Venus, your ruling planet, enters your sign on the 17th when value and priorities should be made clear. Be wary of taking on too much in the last week of the month. Let go of what may be too costly. Mars enters Taurus on the 31st to give you extra energy for a dynamic month ahead.

GEMINI: During the first week there are opportunities for bold and innovative action. It’s a Full Moon in Virgo on the 5th, so around then you should realize what needs to be released from or into your world, when it comes to expressing the new directions you have chosen. You have expanded your thinking and are discovering new parts of yourself. On the 12th, your ruling planet Mercury, slides into Pisces, so clear thinking may get a bit blurry. Career and your future directions are dominant themes this month, but in the latter half, focusing on intimate and business partnerships will reveal who is supportive and who you may need to accept parting of the ways. The Moon is in Gemini on the 24th, helping to ground you for opportunities next month.

CANCER: Cancers will experience the Uranus//Pluto square in the areas of business and career. Changes in structure to give you more of a chance for nurturing yourself are recommended. This is the last pass between Uranus and Pluto for a long time to come, so your process of the last 4 years should be coming to a climax. Finding balance in your life has been a key part of this process. Shifting values can be expected. You may desire expansion as a means to attain material security. The Moon is a First Quarter Moon in Cancer on the 27th. Stay grounded when confronting the unknown and meeting challenges in the latter half of the month.

LEO: Leos are expanding their horizons this month, either through travel or learning new things. A deepening of intimacy in partnerships should be favored. Ask any questions you’ve been hesitant to approach. Find out where you fit into other people’s lives, and ascertain what role you want to play within the cultural milieu. How involved do you want to be? Be honest and the truth will set you free. In the first week, there are opportunities for change, breaking routine and choosing a new and different path that can bring you what you truly desire. By the end of the month, you should have the wherewithal to put plans into action. The Moon is in Leo two times this month: the 1st and 21st. Pivotal days are the 9th, 16th and 22nd. You can watch an entire lunar cycle unfold, with illumination and vision to guide you around the 16th.

VIRGO: Virgo’s emphasis is on partnerships of all kinds – friends, business and intimate. At the beginning of the month, though you are working hard and getting much accomplished, don’t forget to make time for those with whom you are close. Seizing opportunities and taking risks is favorable during either the first or fourth weeks. Relationship issues will most likely resolve after the 18th. It’s a Full Moon at 14 degrees Virgo on the 5th. It’s a great time to ascertain what changes need to be made to bring about your heart’s desire. Realize you are a part of a much larger picture, yet maintain your individuality in all relationships.

LIBRA: Librans are once again feeling the effects of the Uranus/Pluto square in the areas of home and intimate partnerships. Lots of energy is being put into work and being of service to others. But pay attention to your own values and priorities as well, especially in the face of changes looming on the horizon this month. Expanding your goals and ambitions is highlighted, especially concerning what you want or expect from partnerships. It never hurts to ask, really. Venus, your ruling planet, is making harmonious aspects to the Jupiter/Uranus trine, challenging you to maintain your freedom and individuality by loosening any restrictive structures that prevent you from self-expression and creativity. The Uranus/Pluto square on the 16th, once again calls you to nurture and care for yourself, your world and those around you, helping them and yourself to reach a new level of awareness. The Moon is in Libra on the 16th, preparing you for the roller coaster ride ahead.

SCORPIO: Early in the month you may develop new plans and schemes to expand your career. There is long-term growth if you take the Leap of Faith. Your ruling planet, Pluto, is involved once again in a square with Uranus, so don’t be surprised if plans you thought you’d worked out change. Different directions may be more enticing. After the 16th you will see things more clearly. Methods at work may need an overhaul and resources may be spread into new areas for development of goals. The Moon is in Scorpio on the 9th, helping you to see the changes that need to be made.

SAGITTARIUS: Jupiter, your ruling planet, is quite busy this month, particularly in the first half, when you may enjoy pleasure and recreation, or creatively pursuing new forms of philosophical and spiritual self-expression. A pleasure in itself. Now that you can see who you clearly are and what role you play in your world, there is long-term growth if you are willing to take a chance and try the new and different, without it threatening your sense of self. You are setting up challenges to help you become stronger than you already are. From the 1st – 12th is a preparatory stage. After that, it is best to let Destiny take the wheel and see where things evolve. Work to change what you already have into something better, rather than seeking something new. It’s a Last Quarter Moon in Sagittarius on the 13th, so you can take action to close a cycle of activity you’ve been working on.

CAPRICORN: For Capricorns, it’s about transforming the deepest parts of yourself to live up to the vision of who you truly want to be. Your first lesson is to step outside of the “wanna’ be” mentality and see who you currently are. Do you like it? What choices have you made in creating your Destiny, and what choices do you need to still make about your future? Time to assess your values, to follow them and make the necessary changes. The Uranus/Pluto square should help you accomplish this by mid-month. Your ruling planet, Saturn, turns Stationary Retrograde on the 14th, two days before the exact Pluto/Uranus square, so it will help ground you for the upcoming challenges in Week 3. By the 25th, you should gain clear insight and objectivity.

AQUARIUS: The beginning of the month features a deepening of partnerships through honesty and expressing your inner thoughts and desires. Valuing this may cause you to make changes for long-term growth that you had not expected. Resulting opportunities favor putting new beneficial structures in place which will enhance your partnerships. Your ruling planet, Uranus, makes the last square to Pluto on the 16th, and the Moon is in Aquarius at that time, so you should get a bird’s eye view of the evolutionary growth cycle you’ve been in. Integrating with others to make them a part of your process is recommended.

PISCES: It is your birthday month, Pisces, and you might spend some time after the celebrations to assess what are your major priorities and values for yourself in the year ahead. With Mercury entering Pisces on the 12th, you are able to get your ego out of the way to see the bigger picture of your spiritual path to self-fulfillment. You may decide that new and different goals and ambitions are now needed as you realize that breaking the old routines is the best course. Why not start the things you’ve been wanting to – it’s a great time for new beginnings. Watch your evolution as a result of this important decision-making time as it unfolds in the year ahead. There’s a New Moon in Pisces on the 20th. Around then is an excellent time to put into place the yearnings you felt during the first half of the month.
