Trends: Virgo is the antithesis of the previous sign. Virgos like to be of service, whereas Leos like to command. Virgos are practical, frugal and prefer simplicity. Leos can be generous, ostentatious and excessive; whereas, Virgos are fastidious in appearance and manner. They usually have a keen intellect and an eye for detail. Normally they are very hard workers and love to organize. They strive to improve themselves and the world around them since their symbol is the Virgin: perfect, clean, pure and innocent. The dysfunctional Virgo can be surprisingly messy and forgetful. They can be of service to others but with the intent of controlling them by taking away their power and ability to do things for themselves. And they can be exceedingly critical of the world around them and those in it; but sadly, this negative trait becomes amplified into a hyper-critical dislike even of themselves. This can project a very defensive personality that misconstrues others’ observations as criticism. Virgo symbolizes the bounty of the harvest through hard work. They are the force that brings things to fruition through diligence and a sense of responsibility.

This month is an interesting mix of practicality/realism versus spirituality/unseen mystical realms, due to Jupiter in Virgo opposing Neptune in Pisces. We may make great strides in our spirituality if we strive to understand and make conscious (Jupiter) the Piscean energies of dissolution of boundaries, awareness of the interconnectedness of all things, and surrender to a greater force than what our egos may normally recognize. It is the Unconditional State – Faith without limitation. Spiritual laws may be revealed to us – not society’s – but Universal Law. We will certainly be challenged to think outside of the box to understand the deeper forces at work. (See Week 3 for further information on the Virgo-Pisces axis.) Relationship issues are also a theme this month, in the broader sense of the term: our relationship to others, our world, and to ourselves, for example, depending on where it is in our charts. The ideal vs the practical must be reconciled. And lastly, we are in an eclipse season with a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo on the 13th and a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries on the 27th. Eclipses are learning progressions in which we are to integrate the characteristics of the astrological sign within our monthly process. Virgo teaches us the benefits of organization, objective reason and hard work. The Aries Lunar Eclipse teaches us to become more aware of independence, courage and conviction to stand up for our beliefs, to function independently in relationships, and to trust and defend who we are. We must learn to see the value of accepting and channeling anger as well as the enjoyment of competition.

Week 1 begins with the spicy conjunction of Venus and Mars. The feelings of attraction, passion, eroticism and flirtation may color our lives when these masculine and feminine planets unite. Self-assertion, both socially and in matters of the heart, are given heightened expression when Venus turns Stationary Direct on the 6th. There’s plenty of power and energy for long-term growth in terms of coming to grips with who you are and making practical changes to bring love and relationships into your life.

Week 2, the mind will be challenged to deal with change in some aspect of our lives, (depending on where it falls in your chart), and the development of the intuition is highlighted. Dig deep to make sense of situations. Pay attention to hunches and inner feelings. Go with the flow of change. See how the new and different can be of benefit. It’s a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo on the 13th. Plant thought seeds for the coming Lunar Cycle.

In Week 3, Jupiter opposes Neptune exactly. Because it is a slow-moving aspect, these energies have been operative all month, and probably even in the month before, but the critical energy shift should occur from around the 17th to the 26th. As mentioned above, realistic, practical Jupiter will be challenged by spiritual imaginative Neptune. An interesting balancing act to honor both sides of this equation. It may be difficult to keep thought processes focused on practical matters, for it is the conscious versus the unconscious mind, the logical versus the illogical realm of dreams, for instance. It is organization and boundaries versus dissolution and uncontrolled mental flow. Resolving the paradox is the key here. Also in Week 3, Mercury turns Stationary Retrograde on the 17th, favoring unusual thinking. Saturn enters Sagittarius on the 17th and will remain in that sign approximately two and a half years. Our long-term work here concerns Sagittarian issues: the meaning and purpose of life, philosophical principles, our view of reality, and the development of intuition and wisdom. Experiment! Be spontaneous and find your own unique path concerning these issues.

Week 4 offers opportunity to find discipline, structure and commitment in our relationships. It’s the Autumn Equinox, and although there is balance and harmony in the first half of the week, there is a drive for achievement, power and perfection in the latter half. Whether you can accomplish this will become apparent at the Harvest Full Moon on the 27th. First will come the test of faith on the 18th, when Mars squares Saturn. You may experience feelings of frustration and powerlessness, but use your willpower to overcome these blocks and keep the faith.

Key Words: Metaphysical, Paradox, Relationships

ARIES: Relationships began last month will now require you to take a Leap of Faith when it comes to trusting where the relationship will lead you. Most likely your work load will increase due to changes within your career. There is long-term growth within your occupation, and most likely, increased acknowledgment in the public eye for your work efforts. Your intuition is strong, especially in Week 2. The end of the month may be a bit challenging, but you have the mental resources at hand to find answers. The Moon is in Aries twice: on the 1st and a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 27th. This may bring a whole new scenario into your life in which Arian independence will play a part, especially in intimate and business relationships. Pivotal days are around the 1st, 6th, 13th, 21st and 27th.

TAURUS: It may feel like another month of hard effort, and even though energies are moving slowly, progress is being made. On the 6th, your ruling planet turns Stationary Direct to reveal what you or others have been keeping inside, if it has not yet been expressed. Showing affection for what you love will go a long way now. There’s long-term evolutionary growth in changing something about yourself. You know what it is, and if not, aspects will favor your ability to dig deep and figure out what will make you a better person. We all grow and improve by reaching out to others and expressing our needs. Leave the door open to find a new future. Nothing is set in stone. Follow through on intuitions! The Moon is in Taurus two times this month: the 2nd and the 29th. Pivotal days are around the 8th, 16th and 23rd.

GEMINI: Your ruling planet, Mercury, turns Stationary Retrograde on the 17th, squaring Pluto two times, both Direct and Retrograde. So you are going to change – be ready. There’s lots of opportunity around the 8th, if you’re assertive/aggressive in expressing what you want. You may be deciding in the deepest part of yourself to choose a spiritual path and take a Leap of Faith to follow what calls to you. A challenge may ensue of trying to fit this new role into your old way of life. Your home may also become a resource for you to achieve those ends. Week 4 is a very powerful time to use your willpower and push through blocks. The Moon is in Gemini early on the 4th, to ground you in reaching your goals.

CANCER: Unusual circumstances in your career may cause you to want to re-think what you’re willing to put with and what not…Saying something is pivotal, but how much is in question. Along with this comes decisions as to what role you want to play in society, and this needs to be determined. Consult philosophical issues. Where do they come into play? Maybe some higher education would be of assistance. Remember the Aries lesson of maintaining your individuality. Best not to sacrifice that for practicality’s sake. A little extra thinking will make seeming opposites find a common ground. Don’t be afraid to be assertive in expressing what matters to you. The Moon is in Cancer on the 6th, providing insight for this month’s process.

LEO: Venus turns Stationary Direct in Leo on the 6th, so whatever you feel needs to be expressed, the time is ripe. Whether it’s telling someone you like them, or, liking yourself, and buying yourself something that expresses the real you. It’s all about sharing the love. There’s long-term growth in doing something new and different around the 8th. Money may come from unexpected sources. Pay strict attention to detail in any business transactions. It’s not a great time for you to take risks or gamble. Stay with the practical, tried and true. Relationships may resolve their issues around the 23rd. The Moon is in Leo on the 8th when much can be accomplished! Use your intuitive faculties.

VIRGO: It’s your birthday month, Virgo, and you should be feeling quite buoyant and optimistic, with lots of drive and energy, especially around the 6th. Best not to take too many chances around the 9th and 24th. Those are times for inner searching. Your ruling planet, Mercury, turns Stationary Retrograde on the 17th, so large purchases should be made before that time. You should be feeling quite a spiritual pulse since Jupiter is in your sign, making that slow moving aspect to Neptune in your opposite sign, Pisces. Any relationships begun now will most likely be strongly based in a spiritual/philosophical attraction. Mars enters your sign on the 24th, giving you the drive and ambition to bring to fruition what you decided upon during the month. The Moon enters Virgo on the 11th, before the Solar Eclipse in Virgo on the 13th. If you or the scene around you should suddenly change, so be it. Karmic Destiny. Plant seeds for the future and the year ahead in this very important New Moon time.

LIBRA: Energies are focused on goals and plans; however, with the Sun and Jupiter in your Twelfth House of karmic destiny, and Mercury turning Stationary Retrograde in your sign on the 17th, it might be best to make this a month for inner investigation into what motives inspire your actions. Are they based in fear or desire? Around the 6th, there are opportunities for new areas of creative self-expression, providing a sense of fulfillment. It will most likely be a deeply spiritual month, in which you make conscious the deepest parts of yourself, which may not be in accord with the ideal vision you’d like to have of yourself. It’s time to accept a new ideal you and understand the importance of both sides of this equation. On the 27th, there’s a Full Moon in your opposite sign, Aries, to shed light on the blending of opposites, and those Aries lessons. The Moon is in Libra on the 13th. Prepare for a new cycle of growth.

SCORPIO: There’s still lots of activity in your Tenth House of public image and recognition; however, there are also new opportunities to advance your goals and ambitions, and network with friends. The first two weeks are a good time to make those changes you’ve been planning. Realize that you need to loosen up on repressing your thoughts and feelings, and allow yourself to follow where they will lead. See the spiritual significance of playfulness in relationships and explore new areas of philosophical or higher consciousness interests. Your ruling planet, Pluto, goes Stationary Direct on the 25th, so you will most likely feel an extra power surge around then. The end of the month will bring opportunities for organizing your life; but spend the first part of the month enjoying yourself. The Moon is in Scorpio on the 16th. Mystery and paranormal intuition are afoot!

SAGITTARIUS: The light is shining on your career, where you might already be in the process of expanding or changing it. Put effort into getting organized so you can put your new plans into action. You may be challenged to change in ways you never thought you would, in order to maintain peace and harmony in relationships, but remain true to your philosophy and the role you want to portray in the world. There needs to be a balance of give and take. Saturn enters your sign on the 17th, to help you consolidate and give structure to things that may seem to be getting out of control. It is best to think outside of the box and realize that things that are happening beyond your control are happening for a good reason. The end of the month may be challenging, but the ability for deep thinking to solve dilemmas is available. The Moon is in Sagittarius on the 18th, and it’s a First Quarter Moon, when unconscious fears may rise to the surface. Overcome them with willpower.

CAPRICORN: Pluto is still exerting its transformational influence on how you walk the earth, and much thought is being given to public image and your role in society. You need to give value to making the changes you know to be necessary, and integrating the new you into society and career roles. Maybe higher education of some kind will be of assistance. Maintain your spiritual/philosophical ideals when practical considerations may challenge you and create tension. You need to find the middle point of the paradox between realizing you are a part of a greater whole while maintaining your individuality, power and authority: definitely avoid avoidance. Don’t be afraid to share with others what you know to be true. The Moon goes into Capricorn on the 21st. The 23rd is an opportune day to give positive structure and form to your reality. Use your intuition. It will help you see the forest rather than the trees.

AQUARIUS: Aquarians are seeing that there are forces greater than themselves at play, that are transforming you in ways that will be beneficial. You will be putting a lot of energy into loving and caring for those to whom you are close. Questions may arise as to how to integrate something unexpected into your world. Trust the process. Encourage everyone around you to speak openly and honestly. You may not really know what you want at this point, but trust you’ll figure it out. Lots can be accomplished in the 1st and 3rd weeks. The Moon is in Aquarius on the 23th. Seek balance, harmony and beauty.

PISCES: Business and intimate partnerships are of primary concern, with quite a lot of activity still in the health and work sectors. Health issues should be wrapping up successfully, if you kept the faith and did what was required. Others may think you are being vague or avoiding something with which you need to deal. Maybe you feel that way about yourself. Don’t force yourself to make decisions until you are certain of the right choice. There are ways to transform situations so that they work for everyone, if you are flexible. Spiritual lessons and intuition are running high, if you keep details and practical thinking from dominating your mind. The Moon is in Pisces on the 25th, when this month’s evolutionary process can be realized.
