In these times when we feel we have so little control over our lives, it is important to remember that we all must choose the input and bearing we will have upon our world in the coming year. Why bother? Do we have any influence over the massive karmic destiny of power unfolding before us? Yes, and No.
No, because these larger forces (our governing system, for example), are making decisions we are not a part of and there is not much we can do about it for the moment.
Yes, in that every moment is an opportunity to make a choice: either, to raise the standards of the world around you; or, by contributing to the slow dissolution of our society by simply ignoring the Golden Rule. It is, “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
Don’t be like sheep and use the excuse that it’s alright to contribute to all sorts of abominations because everyone else is doing it. Would you like it if it was done to you? Be different, stand on your own two feet, raise the norm and live the ideal you wish existed. Be conscious of your influence on the planet. It is great.
